You can give your guests a hand by designing the lighting to be device friendly.
For instance, light shining from multiple angles tends to be flattering and provide enough illumination to dispel shadows that may the image look dull. Candles tend to photograph well, so be sure to place them in areas where people are more likely to take pictures, such as the dinner table or on the decks/patio. Test your lighting scheme by using your own phone to take pictures to see how the space looks onscreen.

A second thing you can do is create photographable moments, or rather dramatic moments that will produce the most impact when they show up on social media. For instance, look up when the sun will set and plan your party to start near that time so people can get pictures of the sunset.
Another idea is to plan games with a measure of physicality in them. Play classic games like Twister or Charades. Games like these can produce plenty of comedic, and photographable, moments that will produce interaction on the social media sites where the images are posted.

The last idea is to create an area specifically for people to take selfies and group photos. It should tie into the theme of your party and be surrounded by lighting that flatters everyone who uses the area. If you're having a New Year's Eve party, for instance, place the year and a few inspirational words on the wall that speak to the hopes for the coming year.
